that awkward moment real feelings are on the table

My my it’s becoming quite an introspective night. Tipped off by this interview, I started listening to The Dark Knight Rises OST. Dunno why this hadn’t happened before as I’m pretty much a soundtrack guy (more and more and more). Okay now I just spent like half an hour looking up soundtrack links so I don’t remember what I was originally writing about.

Oh yes, as I was listening to this song off The Dark Knight soundtrack (I’ll stop the links, fo’real) I couldn’t help but marvel at how much work goes into creating a great film. Yes, there’s the director with a script, cameras, and actors, but there’s just so much more than just that. I once made my friends stay until the last of the credits rolled off for Ratatouille not because I really respected the creators and everyone involved but because I thought there was going to be an Easter egg at the end. There wasn’t. As I had made my friends all stay and wait, the time it took for those credits to roll by seemed an eternity. The one good thing that came out of this fail was that to distract myself I started to carefully read the names passing by on the screen. By the time the theater lights came back I had read so many names. The movie couldn’t have been made as it was if it weren’t for all of them.

Once again that got me thinking about God. He’s using all of us for the greatest work of art of all time, is he not? The connection and wonderment felt when watching an amazing film—play this out on a divine scale. Something to behold.

Nice

I just had a nice moment. Like a really nice moment. I was outside, watching my sister’s dog pee. Actually I don’t know if she peed outside. I thought she wanted to go pee outside so I took her outside but I got lost in my own thoughts since she (the dog, not my sister) always does random stuff in the yard anyway.

But back to the nice part. I had a moment when things just felt alright. I felt content. But not just that, I felt hopeful as well. I felt at peace and that even though I’m a little tired I had this deep conviction that everything would be fine. If I decided to go to bed I’d wake up well-rested. I felt so grateful.

Is that what it’s like to be in God’s presence?
